Love at first sight DOES exist.

Toga, Silk Organdy Ruffles Skirt

Toga, Silk Organdy Pleated Skirt

I was going through the Opening Ceremony Online Shop and came across these skirts from Toga. They immediately caught my attention with their ruffles and layers. Exactly what I'm all about. The details for these skirts are quite exquisite. When the details are done to perfection and never too much or too little then the piece really stands out for me. It's amazing when you fall in love with an item of clothing right away. You just see it and you automatically feel like you must have it. These skirts especially the Blue ruffle one made me feel that way. until i saw the price anyways... These Toga skirts come in a huge overwhelming price tags of $1870 for the ruffles and the pleated for $855.

Opening Ceremony is definitely worth checking out.

Viktor & Rolf

These designs by V&R can be seen at a production of Carl Maria von Weber’s, Der Freischütz. I find it fucking amazing how these two are so innovative and don't stick to one style. It's great to see designers out there experiment with fashion outside the typical "haute couture" etc.

WANTED. Vivienne Westwood Armour Ring.

I've been eyeing this Vivienne Westwood ring for a looooong time. It's honestly beautiful. It screams Vivienne and has this immediate attention grabbing attitude.
This ring has four sections which are attached together allowing each section to rotate. Basically this ring becomes a part of your finger. It's like a fitted armour hence the name Armour Ring. The top features a small 3D Vivienne Westwood Orb.
This ring comes in Silver and Gold approximately $270 US. One day it will arm my knuckles. One day. aw

P.S. I just saw the most remarkable rainbow. I grabbed my horrible camera and rushed outside to snap a picture. Rainbows automatically makes you smile. One day I will chase a rainbow until I run out of breath. There is a lot of "one day to-do list" today.

Silent Cravings.

Tonight is the type of night where I just want to bite into anything.
Anything.

To simply distract myself I was going through some blogs and came acrss this.

photos from Jak&Jill

The intensity of these Givenchy ads are stunning. I think I prefer shots with glaring and pissed off looking models than the ones that just look pretty and pout their lips. The way these models lock their eyes with yours and give you death stares makes it hard to look away. Lovely.
It's awfully foggy tonight.

Creativity all on the HEELS.

I think it's safe to say heels are one of the most outrageous crazy inspirational things ever.

Fabulous heels by Stella McCartney. Too bad they literally KILL your feet. I could not walk for even a minute. Love love love the silhouette though. Sign. Comfort and Extreme seems to rarely fit together.

Heeless Heels by Antonio Berardi. Quite out of the box. Heels without heels isn't technically heels anymore is it?

Balenciaga Heels. I think you need the tights? with the heels to have the complete look.

I'm still deadly in love with the Marc Jacob Heels. Unbelievable. I would love to try walking in them.

Lanvin Cone Heels. The shape is quite dramatic and powerful. Surprisingly they were quite comfortable to walk in.

Endless creations and recreations of heels makes the world a lot more interesting agree?

Keith H.

Keith Haring is one of my heroes.
He started off as a street artist who launched his artist career though vandalizing subway posters. By vandalizing I mean that he would just grab chalk and start drawing on the empty black poster that were put up in between the ad transitions.
His bold lines are simple yet strong.
He never complicates things. Straight forward. He wanted his message to be understood right way even by a little kid.
Strong promoter of peace, safe sex, aids awareness, homosexual ism.
Kieth himself was gay and died of AIDS.
He wasn't one to give up. Even after diagnosed with AIDS he travelled all around the world to complete murals in hospitals, church walls, public places which are now part of his legacy.
Every time I see his work being collaborated i love how recognizable his paintings have become. Plus he was a great friend of Andy Warhol, more like a worshipper of Andy. Why did they all have to die so young?

Fashion and Art. Coexistance.

YSL Cocktail Dress in Tribute to Piet Mondrian.
FW/1965
"Mondrian is purity and one can go no further in purity in painting. This is a purity that joins with that of the bauhaus. The masterpiece of the twentieth century is a Mondrian." -YSL, 1993

Piet Mondrian. His pieces are so distinctive. Simple thick black lines. Many squares and rectangles. Yellow, Red, or Blue used dominantly. Expect to see a pattern but there isn't one. Definitely not a painting to get bored of.

YSL Ensemble in Tribute to Vincent Van Gogh, SS/1988

Van Gogh, Sunflowers. One of his masterpieces. Warm colours and vivid brush strokes. There is confidence and power in his strokes. It blends everything and absorbs the audience. Yet there is a bit of dream like psychedelic feeling to it.

YSL Cocktail dress in tribute to Serge Poliakoff, FW/1965

Serge Poliakoff, Composition verte, rouge et bleue, 1965-1966.
color contrast is amazing. geometric shapes again rough brush strokes. i like. i like.

I just took Yves Saint Laurent as an example since he did so many great tributes to artists that each portrayed great distict styles and the fact that I worship him may have also influenced my decision.

I really believe fashion and art coexist. They are constantly influencing each other. Weather it is in color choice, shape.. Fashion Designers and artists show great respect for one another and I think that's how they can be in such harmony. I tend to indulge in both worlds. Can you imagine a world with just art? just fashion?

"Picasso is the genius of the pure state. He is bursting with life and openness."

Rob Ryan

chinese paper art.

Rob Ryan is an English artist specializing in paper cutting and silk screens.
I came across his prints though the collaboration he did with Paul Smith.
I find his prints quite whimsical and fairy tale like.Reminded me of the Chinese paper cutting art and the good luck charms (like the above) all around China. I really would like to see how he does so many intricate designs without riping the paper. Don't we all have those memories of folding the paper in half and snipping some corners off to make a butterfly? I love when artists make art that bring back memories and makes people smile.

YI Earphone

It's about time someone comes up with a decent headphone concept/design that is easy to use and plausible. It is still in concept phases meaning this isn't a real product yet, but it's still something to keep an eye out for.

YI earphones work like a zipper, making the wires into a thick strand when they are ‘zipped’ up. Even better the zipper itself has a volume control on it. Pass this on to your friends at electronics companies, because this needs to exist. Good work Ji Woong, we’re glad to see someone is looking after our wires.

May

Had to put a picture of one of Mr. Murakami's work. This image definitely represents joy and spring, for both of those things are quickly approaching.

Hey all. Just like to say Happy May! Even though I'm a day late, I'm still gonna say it. This is our second official month of blogging and I'd like to commemorate that.

Also, today HAPPENS to be someone's special birthday. Happy birthday J. Enjoy the gifts. Enjoy the happiness. Enjoy everything! HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY :]

scent and power heels.

Sometimes smell alone is enough to be an inspiration.
Last night, my brother gave me a bar of "Lush Each Peach" lotion.
As soon as i woke up, i noticed that the smell has invaded my room.

If i try to explain the smell it would be lemon+orange+peach creating a definete fresh feeling.

I'm simply getting inspired by just breathing in and out. Isn't that wonderful?

This smell made me think of... lime green clean cut crisp ironed button up shirt paired with casual boyfriend blazer and black just above the ankle pants. finished off with powerful heels. like the heels in the picture. the ysl tribute heels. picture from Jak & Jill Blog.

Lush is amazing with their vegan prodcucts and eco friendly recycled bags and all of that jazz i love. cheers to Lush
